Holidays in the Republic of Srpska have been determined under the Republic of Srpska Law on Holidays (Republic of Srpska Official Gazette, no. 43/07). Holidays include republic holidays and religious holidays. The days of the republic holidays are non-working days, while during the days of religious holidays the believers are entitled to a paid leave.
Republic holidays are as follows:
1st and 2nd January - New Year
9th January - the Day of the Republic
1st and 2nd May - International Workers' Day
9th May - the Day of Victory over Fascism
21st November - Day of Signing General Framework Peace Agreement in BiH.
Religious holidays are the following:
Orthodox Christmas
Catholic Christmas
Greater Bairam
Orthodox Good Friday
Orthodox Easter
Catholic Good Friday
Catholic Easter
Ramadan Bairam.
